This is more of a career development question, but there are some resources on engineering.com which could assist you.

Click on the Jobs link above and start a search on Chemical Engineer in the data base. This will give you an idea of what employers are looking for with experienced Chemical Engineers and the type of industries currently hiring.

To get a projection in the future you may want to talk to some one in the career department of your University. They would be able to give you information on historical and project hiring rates for students from your school in the various engineering disciplines including Chem E.
