If they could send man to the moon with the technology 30 years ago.Why don't they do it with the much more advanced technology of today?

 I have no data to back this up, but my guess would be the shear expense involved. There were several missions to the moon both manned and unmanned during the 1960s and 1970s. The last manned landing was in December of 1972. The United States has plans to land on the moon no later that 2019 (whatever that means), while China intends a lunar landing, but have not given any formal plans

 The technology didn't really exist 30 years ago to accomplish such an event. It was all mocked up in a sound stage.

I mean really... How did the camera get out there for the first "photos" as they exited the lander??

The real give away that this whole event was staged is the planned "speech".

"This is one small step for man", come on people! If this was for real Buzz would have been saying "HOLY SH!T Man!!! I'm on the MOON!!!!"
