When some gun powder explode in an iron hollow closed cylinder , how much energy consume to destroy that cylinder?
We have inner and outer diameter and height .
I calculate all of energy by enthalpy of combustion , I don`t know how much convert to thermal energy and how much consume to destroy .

Energy is not consumed or destroyed it is only converted from one form to another.

To calculate the energy required to get the cylinder to fail you need to know more than its diameter and height. You need to know the wall thickness and the material properties of the iron. With that information you can calculate the forces necessary to get the iron to fail. The equations for stress and strain from Roark are a good starting point.
