Louis:

The density of snow varies from a maximum of 0.03SG for the driest snow to a maximum of about 0.20SG for very wet snow where SG is the specific gravity. If you know the amount of energy it takes to melt one cubic foot of ice or even on milliliters of ice you can calculate the amount of energy it takes to melt that snow

E = DS*Q

Where

E = energy to melt the snow
DS = Density of the Snow
Q = energy necessary to change water from a solid to a liquid.
